BenarNews unveils new logo, revamped English website

Dear readers,
As BenarNews enters its eighth year, we are thrilled to introduce a new, refreshed logo and website.
The bird symbol that has graced BenarNews since launch in March 2015 is now more stylized, and seems to be rising, perhaps floating on an air current, in front of the sun.
A bird can symbolize many things: peace, freedom, a messenger, a maritime region, seeing from above, the ability to cross borders. The sun is a source of warmth and light.
These ideas reflect our mission to bring clear and accurate news to countries that border the South China Sea, the Gulf of Thailand and the Bay of Bengal – and our belief that “everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression ... and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media, and regardless of frontiers.” (from Article 19, Universal Declaration of Human Rights)
Our new website offers an improved showcase for Benar’s content, and its revamped page structure and simpler navigation are designed to be more inviting for readers and viewers. In the coming months, Benar’s language services will be similarly refreshed, giving visitors a better, more engaging experience.
BenarNews reporters and editors are committed to informing audiences through fact-based, independent reporting of the highest journalistic standards. We aim to shed light, to uncover news that others overlook or suppress, and to highlight issues that will shape the future of Asia.
We value your support, we welcome your feedback, and we hope you will be part of our journey.
